About the Subject – UGC NET English

Qualification & Eligibility Criteria

To appear for UGC NET English, candidates must meet the following:

Educational Qualification:
- Master’s degree in English Literature, Linguistics, or related fields from a recognized university.
- PG Final year students also can apply,

Minimum Marks Required:
- General/Unreserved: 55%
- SC/ST/OBC/PWD/Transgender: 50%

Age Limit:
- For JRF: Maximum age 30 years (relaxation applicable)
- For Assistant Professor: No upper age limit
- For PhD only: No upper age limit
